Palm Desert Car Show Highlights

This past weekend I headed out to Indian Wells, Ca to check out the 7th Annual Dr. George Charity Car Show. No trip to to the desert is complete without a stop at the famed dinosaurs of Cabazon.
This charity car show benefits the Desert Cancer Foundation and is put on by the Palm Springs Cruising Association. It was a sunny and breezy day in the desert. The great weather brought out a lot of cars and people all for a good cause.
A row of classic fire engines.
Some classic Chevys on display.
One low Chevy convertible.

A nice Chevy Camaro

People looking at cars everywhere. The show was held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, so there was plenty of space for cars, people and vendors.
Cadillac grille.

Pontiac grille.

Ford Mustang street machine.
Custom motorcycle.
A Plymouth showing its age.
I always enjoy seeing people using one of our California Car Duster products. A duster always comes in handy at shows where cars are parked on grass.

A clean and custom Ford Sunliner.
New Dodge Challenger and an auto enthusiast.

The show had a nice variety of old and new, plus a few nice European cars were on display.
Low Cadillac.

A group of our friends from the L.A. Roadsters drove out to the show and had quite a few hot rods on display.
Another nice Camaro.

Custom engine.

A band was playing classic rock and roll all day.
After heading back to Los Angeles on Sunday it was off to Las Vegas on Monday for the Project clothing trade show. I had one day to meet with some of our customers and get back to the office for Tuesday morning.

Going to the Sacramento Autorama? I will be up in the Bay Area this weekend to check out that show. Maybe I will run into a few of our friends and customers up there.

A few new events highlights the 2012 show series at California Car Cover. These two events are just the first ones to be announced for the season, so keep an eye on our Events Page as more shows are scheduled. There will be plenty more events happening at California Car Cover this spring and summer.

"Southern California is the backbone to the auto enthusiast community and we love hosting car shows at our facility," said Jim DeFrank, the president of California Car Cover. "We look forward to a lot of fun weekends this year."
On April 28th, we will be hosting the Ford Flex Connection. Yes, a Ford Flex show at California Car Cover. Some employees and I happen to be Flex owners so we entered into some talks with our friends at FordFlex.net to host a Saturday Show and Shine and it is happening. It should be a fun day networking with fellow Flex owners and talking car care.
The next Saturday, spend Cinco de Mayo with California Car Cover at our European Car Show 2012. Last year, we hosted separate Mini Cooper, VW and Audi events and this year we decided to combine them into one big show at California Car Cover.
The Saturday, May 5th get together will feature a Golden Shine product demonstration and detailing seminar to help enthusiasts make their vehicles look their best. We will also have a taco truck in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and raffle prize drawings for attendees.

Whether you own a Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Fiat, Mini, Mercedes or any make of European car hopefully you can join us on Saturday, May 5th 2012.

Special thanks to our friends at dub Nation, Motoring Magic and Oktoberfest for helping us promote this event. Hope to see you all there.

A few weeks later California Car Cover will be hosting a Camaro only show on Saturday, June 9th 2012. It will be the first time we have a Camaro only event at our store and we are looking forward to it. The show is open to all generations of Camaro vehicles.

Whether you drive a 1969 or a 2012 Camaro bring it over to California Car Cover on the first Saturday in June for a car show and shine. We will have a Golden Shine Car Care Seminar and raffle prizes for attendees.

For more information on the show, check out the flier below or visit our website, calcarcover.com. California Car Cover is located in Chatsworth, Ca on the west end of the San Fernando Valley. In September our 4th Annual Fall Parts Exchange and Parking Lot Sale in back. This is a fun Saturday morning event at California Car Cover. It is a great place to pick up hard to find car parts in the San Fernando Valley. It is also one of our annual parking lot sales for California Car Cover when we empty the warehouse and slash prices on overstock and seasonal merchandise.
Interested in being a vendor at our Parts Exchange? Check out our Events Page on our website for more details as the date nears.

The Parts Exchange and Parking Lot Sale will be held on Saturday, September 15th, 2012 from 7am-2pm. These are just the first of quite a few events that we have in the works at California Car Cover. Keep checking back to see what else we put on the calendar this spring and summer.

Custom Carpet Floor Mats from Lloyd Mats

A new set of custom floor mats is just what your vehicle's interior needs to look much better in minutes. California Car Cover carries a variety of floor mat styles and brands for just about any vehicle. This particular set is from Lloyd Mats. The mats shown below are the new mats for my 2010 Ford Flex.
The original floor mats were starting to show some wear so it was time to upgrade them. I ordered a set of custom carpet mats from Lloyd for my vehicle. They offer a few different styles and materials, such as berber carpet, rubber and extra plush carpet. I opted for the standard weight floor mats in black.
Check out the difference! The mat on the left is my driver's side floor mat and the new driver's side mat from Lloyd is on the right. Lloyd Mats are designed for the best fit and most coverage. This way more of your factory interior is protected.
These mats are available in a variety of colors, 52 different colors if you can believe it. The mats are made of 32 oz. densely packed premium nylon carpet.
Lloyd does a great job in utilizing factory anchoring systems to keep front mats in place. My Ford Flex has a small tab on the driver's side to prevent the mat from sliding. The Lloyd mats features a reinforced grommet ring in the same location.
Above is the new second row floor mat on the right and the factory mat on the left. Not only is the new mat thicker, but it protects more of the backseat floor area from dirt and spills.
New floor mats in place.
There are multiple ways to protect your interior with Lloyd Mats. They can custom order a cargo mat whether your third row seat are up or down for most vehicles. Above is a cargo mat that can be used when the 3rd row seats are being used.
This cargo mat can be rolled into place when the 3rd row seats are folded mat. I usually have the 3rd row seat folded flat when I am hauling products to car shows or our photo studio. The carpet mat looks great and protects the seat backs from damage.

Live in the Southern California area? Stop by our showroom in Chatsworth, Ca to view our custom Lloyd Mats display. The display showcases all of the mats available from Lloyd Mats. You can view all the colors, fabrics and styles and see what mat will look best in your vehicle. Visit California Car Cover for more details.
