Moto Concourso in Simi Valley, Ca

This past Sunday, May 20th, was the Moto Concourso in Simi Valley, Ca. The vintage motorcycle event was presented by Moto Rivato and local motorcycle shops in Simi Valley, Ca.

I had been out to the event two years ago and liked the mix of vintage American and International motorcycles. The small event attracts a nice mix of vintage Honda, Ducati, BSA and Triumph motorcycles from all over Los Angeles and Ventura County.

The event was held at the Simi Valley City Council Courtyard. It provided plenty of parking and shade for all the attendees. The show is open to all pre-1975 motorcycles.

Special thanks to Eric at Moto Rivato for keeping me posted on all the show details. We had been promoting the event in the California Car Cover showroom for a few weeks and glad we could help the show.

Valley Classic Thunderbird Car Care Seminar

This past Saturday we hosted the Valley Classic Thunderbird Club. The club is compromised of 1955-57 Ford Thunderbird owners in the San Fernando Valley. Club members had their monthly luncheon at our facility and afterwards they were treated to a Golden Shine Car Care Seminar.

Club member's vehicles on display in our parking lot.
The car care seminar gave club members a chance to ask questions to our Golden Shine car care expert, Brandon. Brandon answered questions on the proper use of polish, wax and clay bars, plus demonstrated our Golden Shine Machine Polishing Kit for the ultimate paint correction.

After the demonstrations in our warehouse, Thunderbird owners had the chance to test out products on their vehicles and ask Brandon about problem spots on their cars. It was a fun afternoon at California Car Cover. Special thanks to Mark and everyone at the Classic Thunderbird Club for spending their afternoon at our facility.

There was also a prize raffle for one of our Golden Shine Car Care Kits and one lucky winner took home some of our most popular products.

Do you have  car club that would be interested in having a car care seminar at California Car Cover? If so, just send us a message on Facebook and we can provide you with all the details.

Shepherd of the Hills Car Show

This past Saturday was a busy day for California Car Cover. Our company was a sponsor of the 1st Annual Shepherd of the Hills Car Show in Porter Ranch, Ca. In addition, we hosted the Valley Classic Thunderbird Club at our store for a Golden Shine Car Care Seminar. We will have coverage from the seminar later this week on the blog.

We had been working with the crew at Shepherd to promote the event and were glad to see a nice turnout of cars and people on a Saturday in the San Fernando Valley. Shepherd of the Hills is a large church in our local community and they did a great job in promoting the car show and it attracted a wide variety of cars to their property.

Love Camaros? There will be plenty more just like this at our upcoming Camaro Car Show on Saturday, June 9th at California Car Cover.

The Shepherd property has plenty of parking so they had room for tons of cars. The parking structure provided plenty of shade all day for car owners.
The first floor was reserved for classic cars, muscle cars and hot rods. There were plenty of classic Fords, Chevys and many more on display. Up on the roof you could find a nice variety of classic trucks and motorcycles.
Chevy engine with plenty of chrome and polished aluminum.
Power for the hydraulics in the back of a lowrider.

Motorcycles on display on the top level.

The first floor of the parking structure was filled pretty early in the day. Once the sun came out it was the place to be to find some shade and relax with fellow auto enthusiasts.

The highlight of the show was the vintage dragster display. The race car drivers coordinated a Cackle Fest, where they fire the engines for the crowd to watch. There was a nice variety of vintage dragsters and altereds at the event.

Local cover band DC Overdrive performed classic rock music all day.

Large crowds gathered to watch the vintage race cars fire their engines.

The car show was a charity benefit for Imagine Water. All the proceeds from the show benefited the organization that aids in building wells in Africa. The show was for a good cause and brought attention to the Imagine Water project.

 Plenty of classic Chevy vehicles.

At the end of the day, the crowd gathered in the shade as the organizers noticed the award winning cars at the show. The event was well received and we look forward to supporting the event again next year.
Check back next week for additional highlights from local shows and events.
